Do You Need A Companion?

Would you like someone to visit you each week?

Do you need someone to help get things done?

Do you know a caregiver that needs some time away?

The Senior Companion Program can help. Senior Companion volunteers have been trained to help you maintain the dignity of independent living. Services are provided at no cost. For more information or to request a Senior Companion, call the SCP office at 712-476-2628.

Senior Companions can make a difference between self-reliance and mere survival in the life of adults in our community. The Senior Companion Program is a free program for those who need extra care in their homes. Senior Companion volunteers provide assistance with:

  • Transportation to medical and personal appointments, get groceries etc.
  • Socialization by providing companionship, talking and listening;
  • Support care to assist 24 hour caregivers with respite & a watchful eye;
  • Most of all, help keep your loved one safe in their home.

Volunteer to Be A Companion

You don't need medical or technical skills to be a companion -- all you need to know is how to be a friend!

Contact the Senior Companion Office for more information on volunteering.
